Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the role of climate in the tourism development of Neom project in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, by determining the characteristics of the climate in Mafraq governorate, which is located exactly in the middle of Neom project, during the period (1985-2020).

in addition to learning about the climate comfort for humans in the study area.

to achieve the objectives of the study, a descriptive-analytical method followed, whereby the monthly, seasonal, and annual rates of solar radiation, atmospheric air temperatures, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, precipitation amounts, wind speed and directions were calculated.

in addition to the application of Gaffney's coefficient of effective temperature, oliver's index, and missenard index to identify the levels of climate comfort for humans in the city of Neom.

the most important findings of the study are the results of moderate climate most of the year, in addition to the availability of adequate levels of climatic comfort ; this confirms that the climate is one of the most important tourist attractions in Neom and contributes to making it a global tourist city par excellence.
