Abstract EN

This study aims to know the role of artistic activities and the possible feasibility of using them in improving communication and social interaction skillsThis study aims to know the role of artistic activities and the possible feasibility of using them in improving communication skills and social interaction among mentally handicapped children who are able to learn.

The descriptive approach has been relied upon, based on its definition, importance, objectives and description of its fields to highlight its role as it contains psychological connotations that reflect their ideas.

We tried to address some of the means and tools represented in a set of educational and recreational activities such as drawing, coloring, forming by paper, and three-dimensional formation (hand sculpting), which help in enhancing their mental, cognitive, sensory and motor abilities.

The results of the study concluded with a set of proposals and recommendations, among which is the need to pay attention to artistic activities For this group, because of what it guarantees to improve communication skills, interaction, integration and participation within the group, and because the improvement of skills has a positive reflection in achieving the growth of psychological and social adaptation, and work to conduct field studies that enhance this study and seek to design training programs guiding treatment, cognitive-behavioral contribute to solving their problems.
