Abstract EN

The current study aims to build an evaluation card designed for the children of the preparatory class to reveal their readiness to enroll in the first year of primary education.

It has been applied to a sample of 160 children in some schools in Mostaganem and Tiaret states – Algeria- for the academic year 2016-2017 through following the scientific steps in constructing tests and standards, Using the analytical descriptive approach and several indicators in the calculation of validity and reliability to extract the properties of the instrument.

The study concluded that: • The evaluation card designed has an acceptable level of honesty.

• The evaluation card designed has an acceptable level of reliability.

• Deriving criteria for determining the child's position within his group according to his readiness to join the first year of primary school.
