Poetry is a form of artistic expression and the secret book of the Arwhich immortalized their exploits and lamented their losses.

It also represents a rich literary background that expresses visions, ideas and ideologies of each nation, explaining its doctrines beliefs and tendencies.

The current research study investigates the phenomenon of asceticism and sufism in the old Algerian poetry to explore the Islamic culture through an approach of the old poetic text expressing the aspects of asceticism and mysticism; and monitoring their artistic and objective specificities.

This is, in fact, what gives the text its poetry, because the ascetic and the Sufi do not care about poetry as much as they care about everything that makes their writings a work of art that expresses special and qualitive convictions in its form and content.
