The current investigation explores several issues related to the employment of the symbol of women particularly in Algerian poetry.

The collection of Othman LUCIF as a pattern to approaching this significant broad symbol to get its deep dimensions.

The semiotic approach is more appropriate to the subject nature to probe depths of this collection, specifically everything related to this symbol.

The results of the study revealed that the symbol of woman appears differently each time.

Once it represents the mother, sometimes the lover and many times the homeland inserting both implicit historical and identity facts.

The poet also surrounded this theme with an aura of holiness by employing the same imposing mystic dimension in this divan, which he was known for, in most of his creative works.
