The article reveals the manifestations of the French language in the Algerian novel, answering a fundamental problem that is: Was the novelist Selim Bacta able in this way to give a new form to the contemporary Algerian novel? Or is his use of a non-Arabic language merely influenced by novelistic writings that gained wide fame, and achieved great popularity thanks to the multilingualism that he abounds with.
