Abstract EN

The objective of the study was to determine the inclusion of the risks of electronic games in the Computer and Information Technology textbooks assigned for Intermediate Saudi schools.

The researchers employed a content analysis descriptive methodology.

A special card of content analysis listing the risks of online gaming was prepared.

All the six books taught at the intermediate stage were reviewed.

The results of the study revealed that the inclusion of such risks is generally weak in the computer books.

All the risks listed were completely absent, explicitly and implicitly, from the book for the first intermediate grade.

13of the potential risks listed were included in the book assigned for the second intermediate grade.

There were 7 risks of online gaming included in the books for the third intermediate grade.

These results were attributed to the broad field of such specialized knowledge and the excess use of technological information, and faith.

The educational aspect of the curriculum is overlooked creating a negative effect on the students morally, behaviorally and technologically.

The study recommends that the risks of electronic games be included in the books of computer and information technology for the middle stage, directly and implicitly, according to the topics of the course.

Due to its importance to middle school students, and to achieve a balance between specialized and educational content.
