The research attempts to reveal the features and characteristics of the American foreign policy towards Egypt during the two terms of president George W.

Bush and President Barack Obama (2001-2016), and it highlights the fundamental differences and similarities in American foreign policy between the two administrations towards Egypt.

and to achieve the research goal, the researcher depended on the historical approach, the national interest approach, and the comparative approach.

among the most important findings of the research is that the American policy towards Egypt is governed by constants and determinants, on top of which is the strategic importance of Egypt in the American agenda and American interests, especially preserving the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel and the continuation of the state of peace and stability between the two countries, as well as mobilizing Egyptian support in regional issues such as fighting terrorism.

moreover, the intertwining of interests between the two countries sets limits to the degree of difference between them, so that the Egyptian-American relations do not reach the stage of collision or divergence .
