Abstract EN

This research deals with the difficulties that faced the rhythmic poetry in its beginning.

This is represented in attempts at modern Arabic poetry that led to the rise of rhythm poetry such as Al – Mursal poetry among some poets or blending between poetry verses by Ahmad Zaki Abu shady and others.

This led researchers to show interest in the reasons behind the rise of rhythm poetry.

This research also sheds light on the problem of pioneering in this poetry and the problem of naming or labeling as a term.

It also dealt with the way in which this poetry has been received by modern critics whether advocated or proponents.

This study also tracked the beginnings of this type of poetry in an attempt to highlight the problems that faced it.

It further examined the controversies that arose regarding the conflicting positions taken towards it.

For example, special attention was paid to how Nazik Al Mala'ika viewed this poetry in the introduction of her anthology book: "Shathaya and Ramad" and "Shajarat Al Qamar (Moon Tree) as well as her book:" Issues in Contemporary Poetry".

The study revealed differences in the attempts to change the poetry form which showed that poets were realizing their need for change in order to express new matters.

In addition, the study showed that rhythmic poetry was not a revolution against Alkhalili "Aroud" verses; but rather depending on it in a different way.

This proves the significance of rhymes set by Al-Khalil and the inability of poets to abandon it in the structure and music of the poem in general.
