First of all, by exploring both Peirce and Wittgensteins's contributions, he recalls the foundations of such pragmatic semiotics.

Then, from Whitehead's notion of "event", he separates out the concept of "semiotic situations".

Next, he defines the grammatical, syntaxic and interpretative elements that compose semiotics.

Finally, as an illustration, he suggests we consider the possible contributions of pragmatic semiotics to esthetics
