Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the manifestations of social stigma among the perpetrators of gender- based-violence crimes in Jordan community.

The study sample consisted of (38) individuals who were chosen purposively.

The results showed that the most prevalent manifestation of social stigma among the perpetrators of gender-based-violence crimes in Jordan community.

The criminal record of gender-based-violence crimes registered in the security directorate is with a mean of (M=4.52, SD=0.74), followed by the refusal of employment in the public sector (M=4.23, SD= 1.05).

The avoidance of dealing with the perpetrators of gender-based-violence crimes was in the third place (M=4.22, SD= 0.95), while the least prevalent manifestation was ridicule from the perpetrators of gender-based- violence crimes, (M=3.29, SD= 1.06).

The results showed that there are no statistically significant differences regarding the responses of the study sample individuals about manifestations of social stigma among the perpetrators of gender-based-violence crimes in Jordan community attributed to the variables of gender, age, income, educational level and faculty type at (α≤0.05).

In the light of the results, the study concluded with a number of recommendations.
