Abstract EN

The aim of this research is to identify the importance of criminal linguistics and phonetics, and the research included two sections, the first dealt with the definition of criminal linguistics and its fields, and the second reviewed the importance of criminal phonetics and its importance in criminal proof.

The researcher used the descriptive approach and the research reached the results, the most important of which is that language is related to the humanities, and legal sciences, including (criminal) the closest human and social sciences to linguistics.

And that forensic linguistics, it is intended to resort to language and use it as a means of proving or denying a charge.

Forensic linguistics includes multiple fields, which help in the detection of some crimes, and help to deny or prove evidence.

Forensic linguistics, like any other social discipline, has its own terminology and nature, and at the same time obligated it to the rest of the members of society, it must be understood by them, as its terms are outside the natural circle of the accepted concepts in the sciences of the mother tongue among the members of the same linguistic community.

The forensic linguist must be familiar with the phenomena of linguistic studies, the features of language usage and its structures.
