Abstract EN

The research aims to know the level of mathematical proficiency among outstanding and distinguished students.

the researcher chose the descriptive approach.

the research community represented the distinguished and outstanding students of the second intermediate grade in the secondary schools of the general directorate of education in Baghdad / Karkh 2 for the year (2021-2022), and the research sample consisted of (400) male and female students.

the two research tools were prepared, the mathematical proficiency test consisting of (23) objective items of the multiple-choice type, and the product slope scale, which consisted of (30) items.

the most prominent results using (t-test) indicate that the distinguished and outstanding students possess mathematical proficiency.

accordingly, a few of recommendations and suggestions were presented.
