in this article we discuss a political and literary personality who had the greatest impact on the development of the literary and critical movement of his time.

The councils held in his hands were a literary means of enriching the critical arena and activating artistic and critical taste inasmuch as Abdul Malik bin Marwan became one of the finest critics in his council.

And his critical opinions were not simply an imitation of the prevailing opinions of that time.

These views were not unique and distinguished because their owner is the Commander of the Faithful.

Where poets and critics are forced to judge favorably his critical vision.

Rather, his critical opinions were based on knowledge and critical experience witnessed by the great poets and critics of his contemporaries.
