This research paper deals with a question of great importance, attempting to both give a picture of an Algeria-born scholar and clarify aspects of his positions and reform efforts٫ Sheikh Bin Muhanna, we find that his activity emerged, especially at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, to a greater extent in the religious and reform fields, which several factors contributed to the formation of the man and his saturation with the spirit and reformist ideas, There was a rise in the reform movement led by the Islamic University led by Jamal al-Din al-Afghani and his student Abdu, Which greatly affected the thought of Sheikh Bin Muhanna, to lead after his return to Constantine and his stability there, the movement of social, cultural and political criticism, in light of the deteriorating situation, especially the religious aspect of it, thus, he focused his activity in order to fix what could be fixed, and worked to purify the religion from the superstitions that were inflicted on it by the charlatans, the followers of France, to help the latter, This movement that he led and was led by other men for one goal, We find that it developed a lot with the twenties of the twentieth century, especially after the establishment of the first club that brought together Algerian scholars from all parts of the country in 1925.
