Abstract EN

The current study aimed to evaluate the Egyptians' awareness of autism spectrum disorder.

For this purpose, a questionnaire was prepared that includes knowledge of the causes, symptoms, and facts related to autism, in addition to the availability of appropriate treatments.

In addition to cultural perceptions and misconceptions.

550 respondents participated in the study.

The majority of them are female, with a high level of education.

Results: There is a poor level of knowledge and awareness of autism among the participants.

The Poor knowledge covered causes, symptoms, facts.

This calls for the intervention of the concerned authorities to raise the level of awareness of autism in the Egyptian society.
