Tunisia has adopted the so-called process of political consensus as an important mechanism for democratic transition, with constitutional amendments reflected in the Tunisian Constitution of 2014, which has been drafted in a consensual dialogue model, as well as other amendments, such as amendments to the laws on parties and associations and the Media Act.

In order to study these mechanisms, a historical approach has been adopted with a view to learning about the course of the democratic transition in Tunisia.

It is only through the past that the present is studied and understood.
