This study attempts to determine the extent of the development of the art of irony in a long period of time.

The book dealt with the style of irony in two known personalities of the writing media at the beginning of the Abbasid period, namely Al-Jahez and Ibn Zaydun.

They both wrote two letters in irony.

Therefore, the researcher studied the irony in the two letters of criticism.
