لقد أحدث "بيير بورديو"(2002-1930) Pierre Bourdieu نقلة نوعية في السوسيولوجيا، عندما جعل الجسد موضوعا للدراسة الاجتماعية و الثقافية، و قد حاول من خلال فكرة "التشكيل الاجتماعي للجسد" أن يفسر كيفية استخدامه كوسيلة من الوسائل التعبير عن هيئة البنى و العلاقات الاجتماعية، و على هذا الأساس، فقد تبين مما أثاره ''بورديو" حول البناء الاجتماعي للجسد، ظهور ثقافة نوعية تتجلى من خلال ظواهرها، فوارقا طبيعية بين المرأة و الرجل، تتخذ قاعدة ترسم بمقتضاها فوارقا اجتماعية واضحة بينهما و ذلك هو الأمر الذي يؤدي حسبه بشكل مباشر إلى تهميش الجسد الأنثوي من منطلق ما أسماه بيير بورديو "الهيمنة الذكورية "Domination masculine"، و التي سعى إلى الكشف عن آليات اشتغالها و فهم ديناميكيتها الاجتماعية، بحيث أنها تعتبر من القضايا المتوارية، المستترة و المسكوت عنها-عن قصد أو عن غير قصد-لهذا قد حاول إظهارها و إماطة اللثام عن حقيقة طبيعتها و آثارها في تنميط السلوك Modélisation du comportement"" في الحياة الاجتماعية باستخدام أدوات النقد الاجتماعي، قصد المساهمة في فهم أعمق و أوضح للحياة الاجتماعية.

Pierre Bourdieu achieved significant progress in sociology by integrating the female body into the social facts that arouse the interest of sociological investigations.
for this purpose, he took the body as a topic of social cultural study.
he tried, through the idea of social formation of the body, to explain how to use the female body as a mode of expressing social structures and relationships.
so it clearly appears through what Bourdieu proposed about the social structure of the body, that the social culture considers the natural differences between men and women a basis for the social differences, which creates a kind of marginalization of the female body under the concept of what is called “male domination” ; for which he seeks to understand its functioning mechanisms, considering that it is one of the hidden and silent issues, whichever he tried to put in the spotlight through criticism to contribute to a better understanding of social life.
