This article aims to assess the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic since it started on the manifestations of urban life, considering that cities have been at the forefront of this health crisis in terms of rapid spread in various urban places.

furthermore, the study undertakes a sociological analysis of the current health crisis and its fallouts on the social relations and their future.

the results show a negative impact of the pandemic on the daily interactions and the face-to-face relations.

this impact is related to the physical consequences of urban planning, which made the reality of cities far from responding to the measures taken to contain the spread of the virus.

hence, the future of urban life hinges on rethinking urban policies and learning the lessons from difficult experience.
