The theory of periodic succession is one of the most prominent theories explaining the movement of civilization, which has been used by many thinkers and scholars in general and philosophers of history in particular.

the founder of sociology and the philosophy of history, the scholar Abd al-Rahman bin Khaldun, is considered the pioneer and innovator of this theory, as no one has preceded him in writing on this theory, and this is the testimony of many thinkers and historians.

this article came in order to clarify the nature of this theory that was formulated by Ibn Khaldun in world history on the one hand, and to show its impact on building and crystallizing the theories and subsequent civilizational projects on the other hand.
