Abstract EN

Translation flourished in the Abbasid Age after the Muslim conquests, the expansion of the area of the Arab world towards East and West, and the direct contact of Arwith other neighboring peoples beginning with Persians and Greeks.

The need for translation grew, and Artranslated Greek sciences, and some Persian literary works.

They also translated from Greek medical, astronomical, mathematical, musical, philosophical and critical sciences.

Then translation reached a great position in the era of the Khalifa Haroun al-Rachid and his son Al Maamoune who gave, as it was said, translators as Hunayn Ibn Ishaq for each translated book its equal gold weight.

It is well known that Hunayn Ibn Ishaq wrote and translated several books in different domains.

Within this regard, we will try to speak about one of the most prominent translators in that period, namely Hunayn Ibn Ishaq who really laid the foundations of translation practice, especially specialized translation.
