Abstract EN

The Islamic banking system has obviously taken the place of the traditional banks on the world economic map not long ago.

since the spread of the Islamic banks, a lot of specialists in economics and religion have been interested in, several seminars and conferences were held and a number of references and scientific works have been published about that phenomenon.

therefore, translation has stepped up in order to transfer the Islamic economic sciences from Arabic to foreign languages.

of the above, this paper aims to highlight the most appropriate translation techniques for the transfer of the Islamic bank terminology from the Arabic to French, as well as to emphasis on the translation issues resulting from this kind of terminology with its own conceptual characteristics in sharia law.

in sum, the translation techniques applied when translating the Islamic banking terminology, object of this study, were mostly direct, namely “borrowing” in order to keep the specificity of these terms, otherwise, for indirect techniques, equivalence has prevailed, particularly for the terminology of classic banking operations which are common to all banking systems throughout the world.
