Abstract EN

The aim of the research is to identify the correlational relationship between irrational thoughts and psychological compatibility, and to know the prevalence of irrational thoughts among the members of the research sample, and to know the degree of psychological compatibility they have, as well as to know the differences between the average scores of university students on the scale of irrational thoughts and the scale of psychological compatibility according to the variable of the school year.

His sample consisted of (374) male and female students from the College of Basic Education and the College of Science, a monotonic scale (2001) for irrational thoughts was applied to them, and the second scale (psychological compatibility) was prepared by the two researchers after verifying their validity and consistency and using the statistical methods through the Al-Bagba program Statistics for Social Sciences (SPSS) and they reached the following results: - The prevalence of irrational thoughts among males (20.78% ), among females (28.06% ), and among the total sample (24.59% ).

- The presence of psychological compatibility with an average degree among the students of the research sample.

- There is a negative correlation relationship with statistical significance between students 'scores on the irrational thoughts scale and their scores on the psychological compatibility questionnaire.

- There are differences between the average scores of the students on the scale of irrational thoughts due to the variable of the school year in favor of students in the first year.

- There are differences between the average scores of the students on the psychological compatibility questionnaire due to the variable of the school year in favor of students in the fourth year.
