After a few years of becoming popular with the concept of intertextuality, Gérard Genet in his book "Atras" studied various patterns of textual overlap, of which intertextuality is only one of them.

Mukhtar Hosni translated the theoretical introduction to this book, in which Genet summarized those patterns that are joined by a general term called "transgression", then separates into one type of them, textual transcendence, which in turn is divided into six forms.
