The majority of contemporary constitutions, particularly the palestinian constitution, came with the text and recognition of women's right to political participation, equality between women and men in access to political opportunities and rights, and the palestinian legislator intervened and enacted an electoral law that forces political parties or electoral lists to a certain "quota" of women on their electoral lists, with the aim of promoting women's political participation by allocating a number or percentage of parliamentary seats to women, because their representation in reality is not commensurate with the fact that they make up half of society, so ensuring a minimum representation of women is not necessarily aimed at undermining the principle of citizenship, but rather supports this principle because it seeks to achieve relative equality between women and men in the area of representation.
