The African Sahel region is considered as one of the regions of the world that is experiencing a state of collapse, insecurity and the negative effects on the population of the region, as this region has become the main source of many crises such as the growth of terrorist threats, organized crime and border crises...etc.

Algeria's security relations with its regional neighbors are attracting interest from several quarters: the multilateral security meetings held in Algeria exceeded 60 meetings in 2012 and 2013; This has made Algeria a "bilateral and multilateral political and security pilgrimage." But the Sahelo-Saharan region, which has a geopolitical specificity, is increasingly making Algerian foreign policy a space for re-reading to discover the springs and means of this movement towards a region and borders exceeding the 6,343 km that are 'extend beyond the Algerian borders in the east, west and south.

Accordingly, this article attempts to identify the security threats in the African Sahel, in particular the security crisis in Mali, and the nature of the changes it imposes on the Algerian security strategy
