Contemporary Algerian narrative writing has benefited from the fields of historical material and evoked what is possible in its content of historical facts, personalities and places to weave its story.

We are trying to delve into it in search of a narrative presence of history within novel “Nawras Pasha” by the novelist Hadjar Koueidari, who deliberately adapted the history of Algeria during the Ottoman era artistically, moving us from the historical to the artistic, crystallizing her vision of the social, political, cultural and even historical life of that period.

The research paper provokes the focus of discussion about the presence of history in the novelistic achievement of Hadjar Qwaidari, and how did the novelist dug with her imaginary shovels into the unspoken of history? Is the act of imagination a distortion of it?
