Abstract EN

This research aims to question the development model adopted by Algeria in its approach to public space and whether it can be considered a basic engine of a sustainable economy, including communication, creativity, and innovation.

This is based on the presentation of the most important institutional studies on the representation and behaviour of individuals towards urban spaces in view of the profound social and economic changes facing Algerian cities.

The research also found that achieving a sustainable city requires a review of the economic development model and associated actions in order to implement new solutions that respond to current urban lifestyles.

Taking into account the undesirable environmental, economic and social impacts of the future through the modernization and rationalization of urban planning, as well as making the most of public spaces as an engine for development within cities.
