The Holy Qur'an pays special attention to the People of the Book; they are the people of a heavenly message, praised by God in the Qur'an in several places, as the Holy Qur'an clarifies that they are not the same in sin, and that among them are those who can be trusted, and are familiar with.

The commandments of the Prophet Muhammad, may God's prayers and peace be upon him, to his workers over the cities constitute the best evidence for the Prophet's application of those divine commandments in dealing with the People of the Holy Qur'an.

What is mentioned in many Qur'anic verses call for a dialogue with them, and arguing with them in goodness with the aim of returning them to the right path, using the method of dialogue.

Sheikh Al Shaarawy paid special attention to verses of dialogue with the People of the Book in his thoughts about the Holy Qur'an; and in his interpretation of the verses of dialogue with the People of the Holy Qur'an.
