Abstract EN

The article is a semiotic study that deals with the monuments of the Timgad city inscribed on the UNESCO world heritage list.

considering the fact that it carries many semiological signs produced by the designers of this city in the year (100 AD).

however, however, users of these sites have added more connotations that may correspond or differ from the initial intentions of the designers ; and this according to the interpretations that these people give to this archaeological evidence, as well as to aesthetic, material, symbolic and political considerations.

additionally, the current study concludes that the city shares a set of exceptional values with the rest of the sites and monuments on the roman map around the world.

nevertheless, it is distinguished by certain cultural connotations that domestic and foreign tourists have created, which makes this city an excellent tourist destination.
