In the artistic, each artist needs elements in his practice according to symbolic indications which correspond to the objectives of his visual message.

among these elements used by many Algerian artists, the element of "sedjad or carpet" which represents heritage and identity of society.

the artist is the son of his environment reflecting its culture.

Mohammed Racim, from his Algerian cultural environment builds his visual and artistic experience.

therefore, this research aimed at an aesthetic approach by the presence of "sedjad" in Algerian art works, focusing in the Mohammed Racim experience, by analyzing some of his artistic models.
