This research dealt with a very important issue, and Islamic jurisprudence, family law and jurisprudence have given it great care in view of the consequences that result from it, namely: the legal and scientific methods of proving parentage, where we paved the way with an introduction about the concern of Islamic legislation and Algerian family law with descent and the purpose in that, as for the first topic was our conversation about the ancient-legal-ways to prove parentage; what we mean in this is what the jurists-the four schools of thought and the apparent doctrine-have mentioned in their books and what they agreed upon such as valid marriage, confession and legal evidence, and what they differed in such as Qayfa and lottery.

as for the second topic, our discussion centered on modern methods and was focused on the role of genetic fingerprint as a scientific method of proof..
