This study aimed to identify the reality and future of data journalism in Algeria as a new global journalistic trend that has been found with successive technological booms that have produced countless information, based on extracting it from the heaps of numbers and information available on the line, and on databases or open sources that are reserved for public opinion and then analyze and present it in the form of press reports and stories To shed light on the future ofthis type ofjournalism in Algeria, we adopted the technique of potential scenarios to draw a future map of data-driven journalism by tracing its path and reading the various trends expected to occur according to three possible scenarios: a dangerous scenario (reference), an optimistic scenario and finally a pessimistic scenario.

Through these scenarios, according to which we analyzed the media reality in Algeria and its future, the study reached a forward-looking reading that resulted in a number of results, the most important of which are: The expected scenario for the path of data journalism in Algeria is the reference scenario, which is that the media situation remains the same due to the lack of efforts and initiatives to take care of it.

With the continued absence of the communicator capable of using data journalism and infographics, and the lack of encouraging journalists to practice updating their technical knowledge to help build journalistic stories on new creative templates, in addition to the lack of interaction of Algerian press institutions with this modern trend, which is a promising media future in the era of The digital and information revolution.
