The A political and economical elements had cooperated in developing Bu Shehir city and it became one of the most important trade harbors in Faris Land.

its fame increased because of the fall of Bandir Abass because of the Afghan invasion to Faris Land in 1722and the fall of Safaoi rule.

These things affected the commercial activity in the harbors of the eastern coast of the Arab Gulf, this thing reflected negatively on the trade of Eastern Indian British.

In addition to what mentioned before, the ruler of Bu Shehir Shaikh Sa'adun Bin Methkoor Al-Matrooshi throughout his political and commercial wisdom and his tribal influence had relations with the government of Faris in the reign Kareem Khan Al-Zend in 1757 who proceed to develop Abu Shehir harbor to get benefit from its incomes in addition to the desire of Shaikh Sa'adun to make good relationships with the European companies especially the Eastern Indian British company to refresh his city economy.

Without dispute this thing increased Bu Shehir fame especially when Shaikh Sa'adun attracted the British attention to hold their commercial work there.

The city flourished economically, but this flourishing didn't last long because of some political and economical developments which caused the depression of trade and the Eastern Indian British company was forced to shift its place from Bu Shehir to Basra in 1769.
