Abstract EN

This study deals with separation of collocational pairs of verbal sentence in the Holy Quran.

Separation of verbs from object or verb alike can be found at several instances in the Holy Quran, with a notable verbal and emotional impact.

The study includes two parts; one theoretical part which examines the concept of collocation, separation and relation between them, and the relation between separation and objection, the difference between separation and accretion, and how scholars approached that matter.

The second part is an applicable one, where instances of verb or verb alike separation from object in the Holy Quran were examined, demonstrating the impact of separation on such instances.

A number of results were subsequently concluded: separation of collocational pairs in the Holy Quran is too wide to be comprehensively covered in one study, it rather needs many researches for examination of separation, identifying its instances, studying the relevant verbal and emotional impact.

It was further concluded that Arabic language scholars had not devoted a particular chapter of their works or an entirely devoted work for separation of collocational pairs and its rules, requirements, impediments and impacts on structure.

It had been rather mentioned in several works which makes compilation of those excerpts a must for examination and study.

Separation by ahead placement and backward was the most prominent form of separation, thanks to its rhetorical impact on structure.

Moreover, prepositional phrase in separation instances had the lion share in separation instances, while separation by objection was found at few instances and it was further disputable by scholars to have it approved or not.

The research recommends conducting a study that covers separation of collocational pairs in Arabic language, including its rules, requirements, impediments and impacts and tools, as well as compiling its instances in poetry and the other instances
