Preference is one of the characteristics of the caliphs of the Muslims and the esteemed Imams, peace be upon them.

An attribute of preference is that which gives a person the competence necessary for government.

The people of the Sunnis and the community do not see the Imamate of Husayn, PBUH, as the Shiites see it, in the event that there are many evidences and narratives that state his preference in their sources, and this is what removes much of the similarity and composes between the two Islamic sects.

There are many prestigious sources of the Sunnis that reflected the virtues of Imam al-Husayn (PBUH) and explained his honorable features, and this indicates his preference and proves his merits for the caliphate and the Imamate of the Sunnis as well as the Shiites.
