Abstract EN

: the companion is a person who had seen the prophet and believed in him, on condition that he died as a Muslim, even if he was an apostate for a while during his life time.

All the companions are just people, if it was stated by Allah and his messenger.

Imam Al-zahaby made a mistake in listing the companions in his Mizan al`itidal (scale of sobriety), and on doing so, he contradicted his condition in the same book.

The number of the companions listed in this research is twenty five who were proven just.

They should never be mentioned in Al-du`afa (the book of the weak).

Abu Hatem might say that some companions are unknown, because they were Bedouins and did not narrate any Hadith, but at the same time acknowledging their companionship, while Al- zahaby might say that some companions are unknown -and he is the first to say that, because he himself was not familiar of them in the first place.

Al- zahaby may sometimes list a companion in Al-du`afa, following his ancestors like Ibn Al-jawzy and that is one of the flaws of following ancestors.
