Abstract EN

The current research aimed at using mobile learning applications in teaching a methodology course (1) and content mastery for developing their levels of cognitive depth of the second year students at the Geography section, faculty of Education, technological acceptance and academic resilience.

The experimental approach / quasi-experimental design was used.

The two research groups consisted of the second year students (Geography section -History section) at the Faculty of Education - Fayoum University.

One of them was an experimental group that studied the methodology course according to mobile learning applications, and the other was a control one that studied according to the usual method.

The research tools consisted of the cognitive depths levels test, the technological acceptance scale, and the academic resilience scale, which were administered before and after the course to the students of the experimental and control groups.

The research results revealed that there was a statistically significant difference between the mean score of the experimental and control groups in the post administration of the cognitive depths levels test, the technological acceptance scale, and the academic resilience scale in favor of the experimental group.

The results of the research also proved the existence of a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group students in the pre and post applications of cognitive depth levels test, the technological acceptance scale, and the academic resilience scale in favor of the post application, which indicates that using mobile learning applications in teaching the Methodology course had an effect on developing the cognitive depths levels, the technological acceptance dimensions and the academic resilience among the second year students at Geography section, Faculty of Education.The research recommended the necessity of training student-teachers in using mobile learning applications and how to employ them in the educational process, in addition to paying attention to developing academic courses to suit the environment and technology of mobile learning in terms of content, activities and interaction.

It also recommended holding workshops for the staff members for training them in dealing with mobile learning techniques, as well as developing educational material, publishing, sending and receiving assignments, correcting them, and putting feedback on them.
