Since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, the global economy has been dominated by the so-called linear economic model, which has proven its limitations and has placed a great pressure on the world's resources.

In light of the limited resources and the growing environmental issues, it became important to search for new and more sustainable economic models, so the trend towards a circular economy began by developing advanced steps to get rid of waste and make use of it at the lowest economic and environmental costs.

The contribution of the circular economy to sustainable development is determined by the ability of the circular economy to achieve its vision of a flexible, innovative and transparent economy, and by its continued success in building global partnerships with companies, governments and civil society.
