Abstract EN

The present study aimed to identify; the theoretical bases of governance and its importance, the reality of application of the principles of governance at the General Directorate of Education in Jazan region, as well as to detect the differences of statistical significance between the average responses of the sample members due to the classification variables (gender – qualifications - nature of the current job – experience at the current job), and also to identify the most important requirements of the application of the principles of governance.

To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive approach was used.

The community of the study consisted of all directors of directorates, heads of departments and supervisors at education departments and offices (boys, girls) at the General Directorate of Education in Jazan region.

The questionnaire was used as a data collection tool and was applied on a random sample representing the original population comprising 267 individuals.

Then, data was processed using the (SPSS) statistical program.
