Abstract EN

The function of Censor had an important role in Roman society during the Republican period.

While it began to disappear in the imperial period to a large extent, where some emperors were keen to take over the Censor position, they are: Emperor Claudius and the emperors of the Flavian family (Vespasianus, Titus and Domitianus).

This research sheds light on the assumption of Vespasianus and Titus to the position of the Censor, by knowing the time in which they assumed the position, the reasons that prompted them to assume this position, and the works they performed during their tenure.

The research ends with an analytical vision about the position of the consor during the imperial period.
