Abstract EN

The aim of the research is to identify the effectiveness of the cognitive behavioral therapy program in reducing psychological depression among patients with renal failure, at Al-Amal Hospital and Qatar Charity Center in Bahri locality, and the differences in the level of psychological depression among patients with renal failure after applying the program according to the variable (gender, age, marital status) In its current study, the researchers used the experimental approach with a quasi- experimental design, which is based on a single group with a pre and post measurement, and the research community was represented in patients with renal failure at Al Amal Hospital and Qatar Dialysis Center.

The size of the research sample was (187) individuals by (121) individuals from Al-Amal Hospital and (66) individuals from Qatar Dialysis Center.

They were applied to the Beck Brief Depression Scale, which consists of (20) phrases and the treatment program from the researchers’ numbers.

The data was processed statistically through the SPSS-Statistical Package for Social Sciences And the results of the study are: that the cognitive behavioral therapy program in reducing the level of psychological depression in patients with renal failure is effective, and there are statistically significant differences in the level of depression.

Psychological father among patients with renal failure after applying the program according to the variable of gender (male, female)in favor of gender (male) and marital status in favor of marital status (married), there are no statistically significant differences in the level of psychological depression among patients with renal failure after applying the program according to Regarding the age variable, and in light of the results of the current research, a number of conclusions, recommendations and proposals were reached, the most important of which are: The Ministry of Health and hospitals that provide dialysis service should provide programs and activities in psychological counseling for patients with renal failure to alleviate stress, anxiety and psychological depression that plague patients.
