Abstract EN

The study aimed to examine the relationship between social communication skills, social responsibility, skeptic personality and conflict management on the one hand, and the relationship of each one of them with the variables of sex, educational qualification, and years of career experience; as well as to determine the ratios of the prevalence of social and communication skills, social responsibility, skeptic personality, and conflict management methods at the secondary school principals.

the study population consisted of all principals of secondary schools in the governorate of Irbid in the first semester of the academic year 2015 / 2016.

the study sample consisted of (100) male and female principals who have been selected according to the available class method.

to achieve the objectives of the study and to answer its questions, four measures to uncover all of the social communication, social responsibility, skeptic personality and conflict management skills, with the use of the descriptive correlative approach which is based on data collection and the study of the phenomenon, as they are in reality and the disclosure of the relationships between the variables of the study to know the extent of the development of the correlation between these variables and to express them in digitally.

the findings of the study showed the following percentages for the prevalence of social communication skills (79%), (61%) for social responsibility, (79%) for the methods of conflict management, and (76%) for people with skeptic personality in medium degrees.

the findings also indicated the existence of the effect of variables (taking responsibility, conflict management and skeptic personality) in influencing social communication skills.

as beta coefficient of the social responsibility variable was (0.195), conflict management methods variable was (0.514), and skeptic personality variable was (0.259).

further, all (ت) values were statistically significant at the level of significance (α = 0.05).

in light of what has been reached and the resultant from the findings of this study, the researchers recommends conducting further future studies on the social communication skills within new variables and samples and benefitting from the findings of this study in spreading conflict management strategies among the members of the Jordanian community.
