Abstract EN

The current study aimed at identifying the relationship between negative and positive affects among mothers of children with Down syndrome and their relationship to self-management of their children in the light of the digital age requirements.

It also aimed at recognizing the predictability of self-management for children with Down syndrome in the light of the digital age requirements through the positive and negative affects of their mothers and identifying the availability of positive and negative affects among mothers of children with Down syndrome, and the availability of self-management dimensions for children with Down syndrome in the light of the digital age requirements.

The study was applied to a number of(30) mothers of children with Down syndrome, in addition to a number of(30) children with Down Syndrome.

To achieve the objectives of the study, The researcher used the positive and negative affects Scales(PANAS) of(Watson D.

, et al.

, 1988), and the self-management scale for children with Down syndrome in the light of the digital age requirements(prepared by the researcher).

The results were as follows: There is a positive statistically significant relationship at the level of significance(0.01) between the positive affects of mothers of children with Down syndrome and self-management of their children in the light of the digital age requirements.

There is a negative statistically significant relationship at the level of significance(0.01) between the negative affects of mothers of children with Down syndrome and self-management of their children in the light of the digital age requirements.

The possibility of predicting the self-management of children with Down syndrome in the light of the digital age requirements through(the mother's positive affects), while it cannot be predicted through(the mother's negative affects).

There is no increase in positive affects among mothers of children with Down syndrome, as well as the low level of negative affects among mothers of children with Down syndrome.

There is no increase in self-management for children with Down syndrome in the light of the digital age requirements.

The study has come to a set of recommendations.

The most important of these recommendations is the need to concentrate on the development of self-management skills for children with Down syndrome.
