Abstract EN

The study represents an attempt to present the basic assumptions underlying development from an Islamic perspective and briefly examines some Western methods of development for comparative purposes.

Where the study sees that the Western perspective of development fails to understand the nature of the human as a material and immaterial being.

But from an Islamic perspective, however, development is seen as an integrated process that includes processes of building a balanced nature of social, environmental, economic and spiritual life.

This is because It is purposeful human endeavors aimed at achieving clear material benefits, real social benefits, and spiritual satisfaction based on the principle of the oneness of God (monotheism).

Thus development is a process of triangular relationships, that is, the relationships between man and God, man and man, and between man and nature (the environment).
