Abstract EN

This study deals with the biography of the historian Abu Al-Walid Al-Azraqi and his scientific efforts in historical notation, represented by his book The News of Makkah and its implications, which is considered one of the most important sources on the history of Makkah until the Abbasid era.

Several axes (the biography of the historian al-Azraqi, his sheikhs, his students, his death, his books, the early dates of Mecca that preceded al-Azraqi, the book of the news of Mecca indicating its importance, the narrators who added to it after al-Azraqi, the brief books that summarized the news of Mecca, the resources of al-Azraqi, and the methodology of al-Azraqi in writing his history.
