Abstract EN

The research dealt with the biography of al-Hakam ibn Amr al-Ghafari and his political and military role in the Umayyad era, Al-Hakam ibn Amr al-Ghafari represented a generation of maven companions who lived and died between three eras: the age of the message, the era of the rightly-guided caliphate and the Umayyad caliphate which have witnessed great events in the Islamic history, having the great effect in refining his personality and directing it, so he became active in the Umayyad era not on the religious level only but on the political one, where he became one of the Umayyad era ruling columns when he ruled Khorasan for five years.

He played an important role in the administration of the regions, as well as on the military level and his jihadist role in the Islamic conquests in the areas of Khorasan, such as the conquest of the upper and lower regions of Tukhiristan, the conquest of the Sghghanian, the conquest of the Ghor mountains, the conquest of Jabal al-Ashl, and the great impact of these conquests on the consolidation of Muslims and the consolidation of Umayyad rule in the Levant.
