Abstract EN

Ancient Egyptians created a solid relationship between the statues and their future life, so they rendered those statues to be the guarantor of that life.

Accordingly, they were inclined to use the most solid types of stone such as granite, diorite and basalt to design the statues capable of confronting then current events.

Thus, difficulty of carving those statues ensued, as they only had primitive tools like chisels and hammers and so on.

When we study the sculpture art in the ancient state era, the great Sphinx is displayed as a model, which is years-endured statue, where it represents the head of king Khafra himself.

It is worth mentioning that statues industry wasn't limited to stone alone, as wood and metals were also used.
