Abstract EN

The current study aimed to shed light on the most important factors and reasons that led to the increased use of modern technological breakthroughs, and its impact on changing the concept of marriage and its traditional methods through the application of "Okhtob/engage".

The study also aimed to identify the reality of this phenomenon in Egyptian society, and its relationship to a number of social factors.

As well as the changes that affected the Egyptian family as a result of this type of marriage in particular, and its reflection on social development issues in general.

The researcher used the electronic content analysis method, in-depth case study, and general statistics for the application, and analyzed the results of the study in the light of many scientific theories, the most important of which are the theory of social relations network and the theory of the spread of innovations.

The results of the study revealed the existence of a strong role for the application of “Okhtob/engage” in changing the values, goals and methods of marriage, and its relationship to many variables related to age, gender and social class, which reflects a change in the family’s building, values and concept.
